A Welcome Message From Pastor Rick |

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ: In the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my family and I would like to send greetings to the Barnitz and Mt. Zion United Methodist Churches. I would like to take a moment to introduce my family and myself. My name is Rick Robinson and I will be the new pastor for your churches beginning July 1, 2007. I originally come from the Bellefonte, PA area and my wife, Jody, is originally from Carlisle. We have two daughters, Samantha, who is 12 years old, and Abigail, who is 8 years old. We also have a son, Benjamin, who is 2 years old. We would like all of you to know how excited we are to be coming to the Mount Holly area. We have heard many good things about your churches. We look forward to meeting all our you and to serving and ministering to and with you as well Prior to entering full time ministry, I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture and owned my own landscape design business for 10 years. However, my passion was working in the area of youth minitry and so I closed my business to become a full time youth pastor. This was only the beginning of God's plans as He called me further into pastoral ministry. I attended the Evangelical School of Theology and received my first appointment to the Sideling Hill Parish in Fulton County in July of 2004. In 1 Corinthians 3:6-9, Paul tells the Corinthians "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So, neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's fields." Although Barnitz and Mt. Zion Churches existed long before Pastor John came, he has re-seeded you and has planted a fine field. And now, I have been called to water and nurture that which has been faithfully planted. But, regardless of who has done work in the past or who will do work in the future, all of our work is in vain unless God is working with us and through us. For Paul said, it is "God who makes things grow." Therefore, let us faithfully be about the Lord's work; you and I together. As each of us personally grows spiritually, and as we nourish one another, spreading the seeds of the Gospel, so too the church will grow. Therefore, be encouraged and believe that, "He who has began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." (Phil. 1:6) |
